Leaving a place

We leave something of ourselves behind when we leave a place,
we stay there, even though we go away.
And there are things in us that we can find again
only by going back there.

― Pascal Mercier, Night Train to Lisbon

Venice, hard to leave.
Venice, the epitome of Italy

This is how I feel about Italia.

Ciao Jenny, I’m sorry to hear that your experience of Italian life wasn’t all that you wished for. Life in a small village must have its set of challenges apart from dealing with earthquakes! I’m glad to hear that you are happily settled in the UK now.
